Side Show

As the starring act of a sideshow, helmed by an abusive ringmaster, Violet and Daisy are eager to accept an offer of fame, fortune, and potential romance proffered by Terry, a talent scout, and Buddy, a budding musician. As stars on the Orpheum Circuit, it seems that Violet and Daisy have everything they ever wanted. The one thing they lack, however, is the fulfillment of their hearts’ desires. Different as they are, when it comes to matters of the heart, Daisy and Violet have the same burning questions: “Who could proudly stand beside me? Who will love me as I am?” Nearly entirely sung-through, Side Show features soulful music, stunningly beautiful lyrics, and powerhouse show-stoppers, particularly the famous duets “Who Will Love Me as I Am” and “I Will Never Leave You.”

Taking center-stage as Daisy and Violet are Gab Pangilinan and Kayla Rivera. They take on two of the most sought after and demanding roles in musical theatre. Appearing in numerous shows such as Rak of Aegis, 3 Stars and a Sun, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Gab is no newcomer to the industry, and packs a mighty punch in her Atlantis debut in Side Show. Not to be outdone is Kayla, winner of the David Foster Star Search in Canada and a runner up of ABS CBN’s Star Power, who has an array of Atlantis musicals in her repertoire, including In The Heights, Aladdin, Carrie, and The Addams Family to name a few.

Playing the mysterious ringmaster Sir is Wency Cornejo, former lead vocalist of OPM rock band AfterImage, who produced ‘90s hits that topped the charts such as “Habang May Buhay” and “Tag-Ulan”. After years of producing albums as a solo artist, Wency will be making his musical theater debut with Atlantis in Side Show.

Playing the men instrumental in Daisy and Violet’s rise to fame are Markki Stroem as the talent scout Terry Connor and David Ezra as Buddy. They are joined by Arman Ferrer as Jake, one of the Hilton Sister’s truest friends.

Joining the cast as the side show freaks are some of the most talented performers in musical theatre, namely Christine Flores as the Bearded Lady, Ring Antonio as the Fortune Teller, Mica Fajardo as the Albino Lady, Alex Reyes as the Tattooed Girl, Jill Pena as Venus de Milo, Chesko Rodriguez as the Three Legged Man, Luis Marcelo as the Geek, Juancho Escoto as the Lizard Man, Vien King as Half-Man Half-Woman, and Tim Pavino as Dog Boy / Houdini.

Side Show is directed by Steven Conde, with choreography by Cecile Martinez, set design by Lawyn Cruz, lighting design by Jonjon Villareal, sound design by Jason Crystal, projection design by GA Fallarme, costume design by Odelon Simpao, hair and make up design by Johann dela Fuente, musical direction by Farley Asuncion and vocal direction by Manman Angsico.
